If you are ready to look for a new appliance, I suggest that you first check Costco online since they are, as I am aware of, the only company which will give you two years warranty. Don't rely on browsing through their warehouses since they have only few or even none of some type of appliances but online they have 50 or more.
Can I fix my appliance by myself?
This question should be divided into two different categories: maintenance and repair. Maintenance are usually simple things to do and people who use an appliance are supposed to do maintenance tasks on a regular basis. This activities are described in User Manual which comes with the appliance. Appliance maintenance almost never requires you to disassemble an appliance, while repair assumes activities that require some specialized knowledge and skills that average appliance user doesn't have and those activities are not meant to be done by an average appliance user.
Each appliance type has different preventative maintenance requirements so they will be described in their own separate posts so you can add you own comments, ask questions, or, just exchange your views and experiences related to this particular subject.

To do actual repair, not just maintenance, you would need at least a little bit of knowledge or skill, or both. Your best resource to find out how to do various repairs is YouTube. Most types or repairs are actually part replacements and all you have to do is enter the part number of the part you would like to replace. Or, if you don't know what should be done or which part should be replaced - just describe the problem in few words, like "Whirlpool washing machine error code E1".
Please note: Disconnect water and electricity supply before working on an appliance. No part of this website should be considered as a professional advice. This is all for informational purposes only. Whatever you do with, or on, your appliance - is at your own risk! Electricity can cause a serious harm or even a death!
